It is a dress up part that enhances the custom image of the R. crankcase cover by replacing it with a normal protector (made of resin). 
The edgy design emphasizes the solid image of the aluminum cut and tightens the right crankcase cover. 
The protector is finely cut aluminum material, and is colored alumite on the surface.
